The Dog Star

Here’s Bentley at 3 months, having gained 8 pounds in the three weeks he’s lived with us. He’s started to chase squirrels, but has to work on speed and tactical issues, though his style is impressive. Bentley will sit and give me his paw, though his predatory drift is severe and he has the attention span of a mayfly.



Looking Right and Left

Some years ago I flew a World War II naval training fighter around Newport. I have no pilot’s license, but have managed to fly a Cessna, the only B-24 in existence certified to fly, and the Goodyear Blimp. The trainer pilot sat behind me, and we did loops and barrel rolls with me just following his instruction.
