Why are we so surprised when it’s freezing and snowy in the north in the winter (where is global warming when you need it)? We’re hoping it won’t happen, that it will be a mild winter, unseasonably warm, no shoveling needed.
Yet it mostly is freezing and uncomfortable.
We’re surprised when we don’t have business because we haven’t sought referrals, made follow-up calls, or networked. We’re hoping that people will simply call us.
Yet it mostly requires marketing work to get business.
You can’t prepare for winter on the assumption it won’t be cold this year, and you can’t grow your business on the assumption that people will somehow find you while you sit at home.
