New England Auctioneer Competes for International Auctioneer Title
Indianapolis, IN July 15, 2013
Kathy Kingston, CAI, BAS will be joining over 100 auctioneers from across the world in Indianapolis, I.N. at the 63rd International Auctioneers Conference and Show to compete for the title of International Auctioneer Champion (IAC). This is the 25th anniversary of this IAC. The male and female winners of this competition are regarded by the auction industry as being one of the best in the profession.
Kathy Kingston, CAI, BAS, is an award-winning professional auctioneer, speaker and consultant with a background in nonprofit fundraising & marketing.  Founder and president of Kingston Auction Company, based in Hampton, NH, Ms. Kingston has raised millions of dollars for non-profit organizations across the country for over 27 years.
The IAC competitors are judged on their presentation, chant, voice timbre, body language, and other performance elements of effective auctioneering by a panel of seven international judges. Participants are also judged on their answers of interview questions. The finalists will compete at 6 p.m. Friday, July 19, 2013 in front of a thousand of their peers at the J.W. Marriott Hotel in Indianapolis. The two division winners of the IAC will receive a cash prize of $5,000, a trophy, and will represent the National Auctioneers Association as its spokespeople throughout the year.
Every year, over a quarter-trillion dollars in property and assets are sold by auctioneers. The auction industry continues to grow, becoming a popular method for selling goods and services for many industries in the United States. The auction industry is vast and diverse with auctioneers specializing in a variety of markets, such as art, antiques, automobiles, machinery, real estate, personal property, and charity.
