Living

Faithful reader Rita Emmett sent this in. We don’t know who wrote it, so if any of you do and let me know I’ll be happy to provide attribution. I think it’s appropriate around the Fourth of July.

There was a very cautious man

Who never laughed or played.

He never risked, he never tried,

He never sang or prayed.

And when he one day passed away,

His insurance was denied.

For since he never really lived,

They claimed he never died.

Thanks for your emails. Bless you in the good work you do.

— Rita Emmett
