That Sound? It’s the Breakers. No, I’m Not Kidding.

I’ll be on vacation in another week, and I tell people to feel free to call my cell while I’m on the beach. Most are astounded. But I don’t mind taking calls (and making money) when I’m a few yards from the breakers any more than I mind hitting my pool in the afternoon when I’m at home “working.” If you can’t answer email and phone calls for a relatively few minutes while you’re engaged in other activities at a convenient time, I don’t think you understand the concept of “flexibility.” The same applies, conversely, for taking some “down time” during the “work week.”

    Fixed a client problem while on the transatlantic qm2. enjoyed myself on the trip even more knowing i helped a client with an issue.
