The Pivot Point

The Pivot Point

There comes a time in a conversation when you want to plant your foot and move toward the goal line. It’s a subtle shift, but important if you want to break away.

You may be conversing well, have a trusting relationship, and enjoy the discussion, at which point you say: “I’m convinced that I can be of help you in your goals, and if I may ask just a few more questions, I’ll have the information I need to prepare a proposal which will show you your options and ROI. Does that make sense at this point?”

Make sure the ground is firm, plant your foot, and move. Otherwise, you’ll just be sitting in the middle of the field forever.
