The Power of Silence

The Power of Silence

We have three inches and more coming this morning of thick, soft snow. It makes no sound, even when you stand amidst it. It came overnight and will cause school closings and traffic problems, but also a great deal of fun for kids and excellent skiing.

Changes of major impact don’t have to be accompanied by sound and fury. They need only be omnipresent.

You don’t need a TV appearance or a block-buster, best-seller. You simply need a lot of people in the “public square” talking to others about you because they read something you wrote, saw a video, listened to a podcast, attended a talk.

It’s speculated that the universe began with a big bang, but no one was around to hear it. The sun makes no noise, but it’s the only thing that will finally eliminate all this snow.
