Can You Say “I’m Sorry”? DASM

Can You Say “I’m Sorry”? DASM

Some guy named Mark sends me a very long spam email. Some guy I never heard of published a book about a subject I don’t care about, and old Mark was the ghost writer!I He addressed me asl, “Dear Alan,” and told me why I should buy the book and promote it. It was obviously a mass missive from an inappropriate list.

When I asked him who he was and why I should care about this book—who knows, maybe I was wrong about the spam—he got up on his high horse and told me that I had no right to question the source, that he was a “struggling publisher” and that my job was to “happy up” the world, so I should help him.

You know, folks, I would have respected him if he had said, “Sorry, you shouldn’t have received this,” and moved on. We all make mistakes. But some of us make mistakes and then blame the other person. These are the perpetual victims amongst us.

Dumb-ass stupid management applies to people as well as companies. He’s going to struggle for a long time unless he changes his attitude.
